The Centre for the Support and Development of Teaching Practice

The Centre for the Support and Development of Teaching Practice (formerly known as the Centre for Teaching Practice) provides systematic support for all types of teaching practices at the Faculty of Education, Charles University, Prague. It is the organizational unit of the faculty that supports educational, scientific, research, and development activities in the field of teaching practice, all in accordance with the faculty’s development strategy. The Centre ensures and coordinates all teaching practices for its students and guarantees cooperation with partner schools and institutions. Furthermore, it provides methodical and organizational support for the practices and participates in their preparation and realisation in cooperation with the respective course leaders.

The Centre also actively engages in the project System of Support for Mentor Teachers and in the ‘I Want to Tutor’ initiative which is led by the NPO (non-profit organization) People in Need.

The Centre is headed by a director who is involved in the development and control over selected types of practices while also publishing scholarly texts on the topic. The activities of the director’s department are directly subordinated to the Dean of the Faculty.
